Thoughts on the Stimulus Bill and the Welfare State

The primary objective of Democrats and other fellow travelers, their justification for doing all they do, is to help others, but that ultimate goal requires that others shall be in want! Their happiness is ensuring that others remain miserable. If they wish to help "humanity" the whole of humanity must be in need. Democrats wish to be a prime mover in the lives of others. They cannot admit either divine or natural order of life by which men have the power to help themselves. Democrats are in effect putting themselves in the place of God.

I certainly understand their is a psychological desire to help but that requires others to need help. This humanitarian impulse in Democrats is a terrorist act. Centralized or even nonstandardized, noncentralized private charity is unable to prevent suffering completely. In fact, it perpetuates the dependence of its beneficiaries and manages to ensure deprivation is wide spread.

Charity and welfare may seem a good objective; however, the greatest thing one man can do to help another is to launch an enterprise that can employ him. If a list could be created marking all the Democrats who took public money and gave it to the poor or the philanthropists who gave themselves it would be found that all of them together by their strictly humanitarian activities have never conferred upon humanity one-tenth of the benefit derived from the normally self-interest efforts of an entrepreneur who provides jobs and self sufficiency.

Temporary benefits make people dependent on the giver to provide more charity. Free enterprise removes this evil by ensuring man can be independent of others or even the state. Government is not the answer to the ills of society. In the end government that is tax-supported, with various compulsory programs is the complete model of the totalitarian state.
